#1 Health-Boosting Secret (You Can Use Right Now)
Posted by Mike Miryala on
Welcome back, everybody. I am Becky Williams, health and life coach. And I want to chat today about the number one health-boosting secret that you can use right now. This is not going to cost you any extra money. You don't have to have a membership to do it and it's going to make a really big impact on your health. Now, question for you because I didn't know this but, did you know that there is actually a right and a wrong way to drink water? Intrigued yet?
It can be consumed at a warm temperature, slowly, and small drinks over time. That's how you're supposed to do it. But I think the confusion about drinking water, not only deprives people of all the benefits that they could be getting, but it can also lead to other problems. And I had no idea about this guys. I was drinking cold water all the time. Cold water can be really tempting, especially I live here in Louisiana. It's hot most of the time and so cold water sounds good, right? But I didn't realize that there's a lot of stuff that happens when you drink cold water.
It actually robbed you of nutrients. It can cause headaches and sore throats. Also, I like mine with ice. I always have my Yeti cup here with me and it's always full of ice water. I had no idea. I don't remember the last time I cleaned the ice tray and all that in my freezer, and that I try not to think about it. But it’s really gross because fungus bacteria, all that stuff can build up over time in there. Gross. Okay.
Also, did you know that if you drink water really quickly, so just chugging it down, most of the water is going to pass through unused. What a waste, right? It can also cause you to be more dehydrated because the diluted blood will cause your kidneys to expel the water even faster. So, all that effort would be for nothing, right? But the good news is, if you drink your water correctly, you can avoid all of those things I just talked about, but you can also get some benefits. So the benefits of drinking room temperature water or warm water would be increased weight loss, prevent premature aging, improves your digestion, pain relief, enhanced blood circulation, detoxing your body, clearing airways with congestion like what I got going on right now, prevents constipation.
If you're like me and you are having trouble even getting water in whether it's cold or hot or whatever. You can use timers and set a timer for the top of the hour to drink water, okay? And then by the end of that hour, you need to have that cup of water gone. If you are a mom like me, try to keep track with where you put your water, because I'd do that to. I'll play that do the same thing with my coffee. I'll place it in one room and I can't figure out where I put it. Okay. So setting a timer reminds you to keep that conscious at the top of your mind, that you need to be drinking water.
So if you're having trouble getting in water because you don't like the taste, adding a little bit of lemon is going to help. Okay, so taking cutting some fresh lemons, doing about half of the lemon in your water. It changes the flavor. It also, lemons are just amazing things. They contain citric acid, magnesium, bioflavonoids and vitamin C, pectin, calcium, limonene and all of these are going to help to supercharge your immunity so that your body can fight infection. Okay. So, you're basically making your water like a superhero, right?
It also helps to lower free radicals and increase breaking down body fat also known as adipose tissue. So, drinking water the right way, adding a little bit of lemon changes the flavor, makes it taste better and also is helping you to get rid of stored body fat. All right?
What is your tip for drinking water? Because I would definitely love to hear it. If you already knew about the benefits of drinking room temperature or warm water, let me know in the group. I'd love to hear about all your other tips that you have because we all need to drink more water. It's getting to be hot right now and I know in Louisiana, we pretty much don't have seasons. It's hot cold same day, whatever. So staying hydrated. It's going to help me to keep my immunity up so that I am not feeling sick. All right, so let me know what your tips are. I can not wait to see you in the next bonus video.
